North Carolina Outerbanks

We are going to be headed up 95 in the spring and thought we would stay in the Outer banks before the summer rush. Does anyone know of any campgrounds that we can stay at and any advice on routes? Should we be worried about any restrictions?

We have been down to the KOA with our 5th wheel. You won’t have any issues with your rig.

Stayed at the Cape Hatteras campground once. It was awesome. There are two sides to the park - one on the open ocean side, one on the sound side. The only disappointing thing is that even if you’re on the oceanside - the dunes are so high that you can’t see the ocean unless you walk to the beach. You can hear the waves though.

Check out the sunset on the sound side some night even if you don’t stay on that side - gorgeous!

@Sharon26 Do you know anything about the KOA next door?

The park you sent looks fantastic:

It looks like they both have beach access. How are the ocean spots, do they have a great view? I ask because the pricing seems cheeper if you are not directly on the ocean lots.
