Myrtle Beach, May 2019

We are looking at planning our first long haul (that is once we get our trailer). We are thinking that Myrtle Beach in May before the crowds arrive would be perfect. Having never been, quick search on Google shows a bunch of campgrounds.

Is there a difference between North Myrtle vs Surfside Beach area? Any recommendations on campgrounds will full hookups?

I don’t know if it matters so much where you are at. I have only stayed in North Myrtle in the past at Apache Family Campground and Pier which is pretty fantastic. You are near plenty of restaurants on 17 including Barefoot Landing area and tons of famous Pancake Houses.

I know from driving around that it seems more touristy the closer to downtown Myrtle Beach. I have not stayed south towards Murrells Inlet but the area seems like North Myrtle to me.
