We are trying to figure out the best way we can plan trips in our trailer. We are noobs but wanted to know how to avoid low bridges, being overweight on bridges, anything like that?
This is going to sound really lame but we use Google maps in satellite mode. Especially when we are going down back roads or going into a gas station. Lets us get a rough idea how we would navigate tighter roads and if we need to be careful of a bridge or corner we can’t swing.
RV Parky is a good planning app that I use:
Try the Garmin 770 Lmt GPS, it’s designed for people with motor homes, fifth wheels, TT’s and cars. This GPS steers you around low bridges , tight curvey roads, narrow tunnels ect.It also can give you real time traffic reports, repair facilities, food, gas also.
We have a Garmin RV 770 LMT-S GPS Navigator. You plug in your trailers Specifications and switch it to towing mode when you are towing and it essentially keeps you out of 95% plus of trouble (some roads do not have details where some out of the way camp grounds are located). I highly recommend getting one.
