Looking in to getting a solar panel for our Imagine XLS 17 MKE. The furrion system is 500 bucks and we were really hoping to start with something a little bit cheaper to try it out. I can’t seem to find any information on the Furrion website about what kind of connection their port uses and if it would be compatible with a different solar panel. Has anyone had any experience using a different system still routed through the Furrion Solar Port? Thanks so much, happy camping!
Go to YouTube search for William Prowse he has several Videos about solar.
You can go to Amazon and get an adapter for many of the cheaper solar panels that will plug into the Furrion port.
I picked up an HQST solar suitcase (check Amazon - which came with a Renogy Wanderer 10A charge controller) and adapted it to work with the Furrion port (adapter info - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VCJHCRM?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details). I also added an extension cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DM97KYH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and changed the adapter coming off the charge controller (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TSS2MPB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to work with the new cables.
